taking the plunge

I've just found some shots I had saved, on an old PC, of the Daimler prior to any repairs being made to the passenger side sill but after all the old metal was cut out. The point of no return I guess you could call it. Looking at old photos usually creates feelings of nostalgia but not these ones. I rember all too clearly how bleak it looked when there was fresh air where metal should have been and the box section was lying on the floor and the sills were in a box. How much work seemed to lay ahead! Anyway here are the pictures.

this is where the action takes place. red car is faithfull Suzuki Swift which I got for nothing and trundles me to and from the barn.

this is after rear box section cut out and bracing put in before inner sill is removed

removal of the rear box section and rear section of inner sill exposes the seat pan area which is completely sound luckily. rear chassis leg also remarkably sound

this shot is slightly forward of last one and shows that this large box section is sound and dry. God knows how you're supposed the reah the electric in ther. I suspect there is an access hole on the front face of the seat pan
